Its getting lighter!

I've been painting away in preparation for my exhibition in December. Now December feels like a LONG way off but we all know that time flies and soon enough it will nearly be Christmas!

I hate people mentioning Christmas too early and February definitely falls into that bracket. But there's nothing like being prepared and a bit of forward planning in a busy life schedule goes a long long way. Plus its definitely getting lighter, winter feels like such a long time early mornings with the horses takes its toll and if I'm honest I'm sick to the back teeth of them. To my fellow horse people we must really love our horsey babies either that or we are mad. But the sign of the evenings/mornings getting lighter does stir both excitement and relief in me with the hope that spring is not too far away now and there's light at the end of the tunnel.

I was looking back at my last few paintings and I can see a clear theme in them, blue in colour (maybe expressing my mood) but the last couple have started to have a warm feel to them. The latest one 'Silence is Golden' definitely has a warm feel to it but with no real sight of the sun its like I'm just warming up to the idea that the sun is coming but not quite with us yet.

I don't often reflect back on my paintings but I think its something I'm going to start doing, its funny how as an artist your mood comes out in your paintings. This one clearly has some hope of warmth coming our way soon. Well here's hoping anyway!
